One of the most important Korean face contouring procedure beside Chin Surgery is no other than Square Jaw Reduction. Square Jaw Reduction is one of the most popular face contour Wonjin has which is favored both by local and foreign patients. This Korean face contouring procedure is basically removing the angular jaw line to create a slender V-line.

Square jaw reduction is appropriate for those who:
1. Case of conspicious jaw bone
2. Extremely developed masticatory muscle
3. Desire a slender jaw line
4. Dissatisfied with current facial contour

Here is the square jaw reduction surgical method performed at Korean face contouring specialized hospital, Wonjin Plastic Surgery. As you can see through the picture, creating a V shape of jaw bone may result in unnatural shape of jaw line, even sometimes it can create facial asymmetry or nerve damage. But don't worry because Wonjin's surgical technique enables accurate shaping the jaw bone for a natural and slender line.

First, an x-ray would be taken to figure out shape of maxilla and mandible bone, also the nerve location. After the x-ray, an incision will be performed inside the mouth and a removal of the proportional mandibular angle is performed, to prevent occurence of secondary angle, which is removing angle along the jaw line, effective for downsizing the entire mandible, for both frontal and profile. For some necessary cases, a cortical fracture (a surgical method of removing the outer layer of the jaw bone) is performed. The jaw bone is formed in three layers. For the case with excessively developed masticatory muscle, the masticatory muscle removal procedure also has to be performed at the same time. And for the cases with excessive fat on the face, of course the removal of buccal fat has to be performed.

For foreign patients who live outside Korea, is it recommended to stay in Korea approximately 14 days or more after performing the two jaw reduction surgery.
